The Doctoral School of Physics and Chemistry-Physics is co-accredited between Unistra and UHA. It aims to provide research training in the areas of interest of its 8 laboratories. The spectrum of research themes is broad, in line with the broad orientations that make up the strength of the Strasbourg scientific pole, ranging from subatomic physics to astrophysics, through the physics of condensed matter with its ramifications in the nanosciences ( properties of unique objects), functional materials (optics, magnetism and spintronics) and mesoscopic physics. The doctoral school is highly multidisciplinary as shown by the different priority themes that are redefined each year, combining the contributions of physics and chemistry to the interface with life sciences, for example in biomedical imaging but also in biomaterials and polymeric materials.
PhD students enrolled or wishing to register for the UHA can refer to the site of the Mulhouse antenna.
Missions:
Organize the training of PhD students
Ensure supervision and monitoring of PhD students, setting up of the CSI composition, examination and alidation of the CSI reports
Prepare them for their professional insertion
Treat applications for doctoral contracts
Examination of thesis defense files
The principles set by the University of Strasbourg for the preparation of a thesis are specified in the doctoral charter.
French version of the doctorate charter.

Phd Student’s Congress – 2023 Edition
The 2023 edition of the CDD will take place on Thursday 23rd March 2023 in the Collège Doctoral Européen, located on the Esplanade campus in Strasbourg (46 Bd de la Victoire).
/!\ All 1st year PhD students must attend the conference.
Attending and participating by presenting their work through a poster or an oral presentation are strongly recommended for all PhD students.
Firstly, it will be an opportunity for you to share your work with the community of the doctoral school; secondly, it will be an important experience as you have to vulgarize and communicate your work to a non-specialist audience, two things that are capital in many domains.
You will find more information, on this day and how to participate, on the congress website: https://congress-ed182.sciencesconf.org/ in both English and French.
